PolyCMS Plugin: Banner Slider

Overview

The Banner Slider plugin creates responsive image carousels for your blog frontend. Display promotional banners, featured content highlights, or visual galleries with autoplay and navigation controls.

Activation

  1. Navigate to Blog > Plugins.
  2. Find Banner Slider and click Activate.
  3. Click Settings to manage slides.

Managing Slides

Adding a Slide

  1. Click Add Slide in the plugin settings.
  2. Upload or select an image from the Media Library.
  3. Configure slide options:
  • Title — Optional overlay text.
  • Description — Optional subtitle text.
  • Link URL — Click destination for the slide.
  • Link Target — Open in same tab or new tab.
  • Order — Display position in the carousel.

Reordering Slides

Drag slides to change their display order in the carousel.

Removing Slides

Click the delete icon on any slide to remove it from the carousel.

Responsive Behavior

The slider automatically adapts to screen size:

  • Desktop — Full-width carousel with all controls visible.
  • Tablet — Scaled proportionally with touch swipe support.
  • Mobile — Single-column layout with swipe navigation.

Displaying the Slider

The slider renders in the theme-designated banner area. Most themes include the slider at the top of the homepage. Custom themes can render the slider using the plugin's display function.
