PolyCMS Dashboard & Analytics
Dashboard Overview
The PolyCMS Dashboard provides an at-a-glance overview of your CMS activity. Navigate to Blog > Dashboard to access it.
Dashboard Statistics
The top section displays key metrics:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Posts | Number of all posts (published + drafts) |
| Total Pages | Number of all static pages |
| Total Comments | Comment count across all posts |
| Total Views | Aggregate page views for all published content |
Dashboard Widgets
The main dashboard area contains configurable widgets:
- Recent Posts — Latest published posts with title, date, and status.
- Recent Comments — Latest comments with approval status and quick moderation links.
- Activity Log — Recent content changes (created, updated, deleted) with timestamps.
- Quick Draft — Fast post creation form directly from the dashboard.
- Content Summary — Breakdown of content by status (Published, Draft, Scheduled).
Customizable Layout
Each staff member can personalize their dashboard layout:
- Drag and Drop — Rearrange widgets by dragging them to preferred positions.
- Widget Preferences — Saved per user. Each staff member sees their own custom layout.
- Collapse/Expand — Minimize widgets to save screen space while keeping them accessible.
Per-User Preferences
Dashboard widget positions and collapse states are stored per staff member in the user preferences system. This means:
- Admin A can have Activity Log at the top while Admin B prefers Recent Posts first.
- Widget preferences persist across sessions and browser changes.
- Resetting preferences restores the default widget layout.
